The list includes 308 species, of which 266 are native to the area and 42 are human introductions. It has been compiled from the following data:
1. Notes and specimens collected by Roman Gankin, Richard Hildreth, and G.L. Stebbins ona field excursion of the California Native Plant Society, July 1-2, 11967. The collection numbers for the species actually collected, Nos. 6530-6630, are cited after the species concerned. Nos. 6605 to 6619 were collected by Gankin and Hildreth, the others by Stebbins.
2. Collections made by Helen K. Sharsmith, University of California Herbarium, Berkeley, June 23-24, 1961. Her collection numbers are cited with the prefix HKS.
3. Collections made by Robert F. Thorne in Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden in 1965. Cited with the prefix RFT.
