Blue Oak seedlings were marked and measured in 1965 and measured 12 more times through 1991. These seedlings experienced heavy browsing by mule deer. The study site was North Field at the Hastings Reserve, with dense Erodium botrys ground cover. Presence/absences data for 21 herbs in sections of North Field are included for 7 years from 1944-1965.
