ECO DATA: Algal Standing Crop Data
|
Description |
These are point data taken every 0.5 or 1.0 m along the same 4 cross-stream transects monitored from 1988-2012. I took data on stream physical conditions, taxonomic identity, density and condition of attached and loose algae, and noted dominant benthic insects (low quality data because some bugs are scared away from me when I am wading across the stream) . Transects were distributed, as I recall, over about 3 km of the Angelo, Collin and I have them located on a map) surveyed 2-12 times per year since 1988 (!). The transects have stayed very close to the same position, located between nails in trees or large logs on the river banks, but over the 20 years, a few of these got destroyed and I had to relocate transects as closely as possible. Filename: SFk_x-scns_1988_to_2012.xls Assume georef is available since samples were taken from known locations. However, since this data is not digitized, I'm classifying it as 0% georeferenced.
