notes from R.W.Thorp 5/7/13 : "The citation of Andrena osmioides Cockerell on the 1940's list is obviously a tentative ID since it is followed by "(near)" which means that the ID was uncertain. It is not on my Cumulative list because I have not seen it, or else it is one of the numbered species waiting to be determined. You might check the Andrena osmioides specimens at the Essig to see if there are any actual records of the species from Hastings. If you find any specimens determined by WE LaBerge, you could add it to the list with some confidence. Otherwise it should remain a questionable record until we can find evidence to validate it." |
