Description |
The expected invasion of the United States by Africanized honey bees has inspired long-term stud- ies documenting the ecological im- portance of native and introduced bees. Baseline data are being gath- ered to predict the effects of the in- vasion. Standardized sampling pro- cedures and tools have been developed to monitor bee commu- nities. The studies will provide in- formation for developing wildland area conservation policies.
